Come to the dark side.... :)

Today six T.Y's and a fifth year went to the Stars wars convention in the RDS in Dublin.16 of the T.Y's that went bag packing to help raise money for the charity Irish Autism were put into a draw to win one of these tickets. Load of people didn’t go because they thought that it would be very good and to be honest I was one of the people who were thinking of not going and I am really glad that I decided to go in the end because it was an amazing day.The tickets that we had won were for the press preview today before any members of the public were allowed in. So there weren’t many people there but it was still really good.

The doors opened around 12 after we had been waiting for a while. We had been taking some photos while we were waiting.


Once we went in there wasn’t much there at all. Just a hall with people and an ice cream truck a few chairs and one or two other places that we could get food. We also soon found out that the ice –cream was for FREE!!!!

Did I mention the ice-cream was fore FREE!!!!

Some of the characters soon started to come out so people could get in some photos with them. There was who I thought was Luck Skywalker but when I asked him was he Luck he said no. I later learned that he was ob1 Kenobi. I felt kind of stupid then for asking but he’s never going to see me again so it doesn’t really matter. Then there was some clones the bad guys. There were some good guys and then there was an Aileen thing but I don’t know his name and then there was the other man in a green suite that seemed to enjoy scaring people.

After another little while the exhibition was open and we could all go in. It was nothing  like I thought it was going to be but instead it was really good and I really did enjoy it. There were different things that you could get your photos taken, have lightsaber battles, get your face painted, meet some of the original cast members and you could by different things. After about an hour of wondering around having a bit of fun they called everybody and a guy who wrote books about star wars gave a speech.
















After that near the end of the two hours that we had Dart Vader appeared. I got very excited when I saw him and I don’t even know why but I was however disappointed that Luke Skywalker never made an appearance. Everybody crowed around dart Vader and lots of people were getting photos taken.




I was still in shock in that photo and very very scared.

While we were waiting Kellie was standing behind me and to the side. She said hello out of know where which made me turn around. Then all of a sudden the guy that was dressed up in green had his head right at my shoulder. And to cut a long story short he sent me running away screaming because I got such a fright and the worst thing is that everybody and I mean everybody seen it happen because we were all in the same spot. Even dart Vader who was in the middle of getting his photos taken looked up to see me run away and scream.
After he scared me half to death he did give me a hug.... :)

After that we went around the hall again for a little while before we decided that we would go home then because it was almost two o clock and we were only allowed to stay until two o clock anyway. It was a brilliant day and I am glad that I went.

An unexpected week

Last week I went back to work and to say I was scared would be an understatement! On Sunday night I prepared myself as much as I could for what I anticipated to be one of the worst weeks I would experience in work. I expected to be riddled with anxiety to the point where I wouldn’t be able to go to work- I was not. I expected to feel pure panic as I drove to work each day, bordering on a full-blown panic attack- I did not. I expected to cry, each day over something minor, something small, something that wouldn’t have mattered- I did not. I expected to obsess over everything; put more rituals in place to ensure everything was perfect-I did not. Shame

A week ago I found myself explaining to my therapist how I wanted to end my life, how I was so desperate for my mind to shut off and how I was ready to end it all, in that moment I felt distressed. A week ago I found myself ringing a close friend asking him to collect me from the local health centre because I had to go to hospital and couldn’t trust myself to be left alone, in that moment I felt ashamed.
