There's Always Light at the End of the Tunnel

A while ago everybody had a meeting with Mr C about what subjects we wanted to do in fifth yer four the leaving cert. And this week we found out if we had got our subjects or not. 15 people didn’t get there subjects. I was one of them.   During the Easter Feaster loads of people went to have a meeting with Mr C about their subject choices. I went first that morning. I dint get my history class because not enough people applied for it. There was an early history class but I didn’t want to do that because I only really like the late History. So instead I chose to do LCVP. Mr C explained it to me as T.Y in a class. I’m looking forward to it next year it should be fun. And you get to go on work experience again. I love going on work experience it’s really fun. Hopefully next year will be fun but nothing will compare to the amazing experience that I have got from T.Y. I am glad that I chose to do transition year. It has been amazing so far and we still have another month to go…  ...

On Friday I had my meeting with Mr. C about the different subjects that I wanted to choose for leaving cert. I all ready had a pretty good idea of what subjects I wanted to do and Mr C was able to help me decide what order to put them in and things like that. The subjects that Im going to pick for next year are history home ec and biology. We also talked about the different things that I would like to do when I leave school. I wanted to be a nurse but no I really have no idea what I want to be when I leave school. After we talked about that we talked about work experience and where o went for my first placement. I went to a hospital in Athy and it was kind of like a nursing home and there wasn’t very much for me to do so I didn’t like it very much. For my next work experience I’m going to fire brigade training centre and I’m looking forward to it. I hope it’s better than my last work experience.

This week we were told that it is almost time for us to make our subject choices .The third years will be doing their mocks, but before this happens they have to choose their subjects. We have been getting talks from different teachers about the subjects and what they invloved for leaving cert. Most of the teachers make the subjects sound great and interesting it’s like they are trying selling a product like on dragons den. It’s hard to know what they will really be like. I think that I have finally decided that I want to do biology home ec and history the late course. I’m looking forward to going into fifth year but I am going to miss transition year. Every things just going too fast. It’s like ty is almost over all ready but I guess we just got to take one day a time and then it might not seem like it’s going too fat. But I love T . Y.
