Blog Awards Ireland

Image
On Thursday I had my first social event since my corrective double jaw surgery and I have to say this event both met and went beyond my expectations! What was this event you might ask well it was the 2015 Blog Awards Ireland hosted by Ashville Media Group. I have been apart of the blog awards since 2011 when it was formally know as the Irish Blog Awards and since then my blog has been a finalist each year with me attend 4 of the last 5 awards. Now over the past five years there has been changes to the organisers and each year the awards have grown and improved and this year was no exception. I was a bit hesitant when I found out that the awards were being hosted by a company worried that the personal touch might be lost and indeed part of the personal aspect was lost in my opinion with the winners not being given as much time as before to accept the awards but besides that everything else met my expectations. When I heard the food was "street style" was was confused about how...

2 years in a row!! Thank you very much. :)

Last Saturday I made my way to Nass.... it sounds like its miles always from where I live but it’s not really. It only about half an hour away but I wanted to make it sound a bit more dramatic. As I explained what I was trying to do I guess it didn’t work! Any way it’s time for me to get back on topic!! Last Saturday I went to Naas to attend the Irish blog awards for my second year. This year however was run and organised by a different group of people. It was amazing to say the least. I was in the finals for the best youth blog and beginning with Y I had to wait until the end of the night to find out if I was going to win or not. I have to say that it was well worth the wait without a doubt. As there were 30 awards to be given out it went a bit like this: 10 awards were given out followed by our started. Another 10 awards given out followed by our dinner. The final 10 awards given out followed by our ice-cream :) In between all of that there was a few little other things going on s...

Em, Em thanks I guess..... :)

So last night at the Irish blog awards I won. When you go up to collect the award you had to make a speech and seeing as how I had convinced myself that I wasn’t going to win I didn’t have a speech ready. When I went onto the stage I froze. All I could manage to say was “em em thanks I guess” and then I pretty much ran off the stage.  So today I was thinking of what I could have said. If I was able to speak while I was on stage my speech would have went something like this..... “ Wow well this was a total surprise. I was not expecting this at all.  I really have to say thanks to a few people. Firstly the person that got me to start a blog as part of my I.T class Mrs L. She also nominated me for this award and I am really grateful. She has helped me make my blog what it is now. So thanks Mrs L. I have to thank Tom Tom. My blogging motivator. Without him I would not be able to blog so much. He always makes sure that I have blogged. So thanks Tom Tom. I have to thank my dad an...

So yesterday I headed up to Belfast with my dad and my brother Paul. It was an eventful start to the day when nobody knew what time we were leaving at and when Paul kept throwing things at me. Yeah I have a nice brother don’t I. We headed off at around 11 with the hopes of doing a bit of shopping in Belfast city before we made our way to the Europa hotel. To be honest on Saturday morning I was more excited about going shopping than to be going to the awards. After a couple of hours shopping with Paul I soon wanted to be at the awards more than anything. At around 6 we went back to the hotel for something to eat and then headed back down to the lobby and waited for a little while until we could go into the awards. At this point I was getting really excited. All that was going around in my head was the song “I’m so excited”. Once the clock went 7 I wanted to go in but we waited until about 7.10.  By this time had seen nobody that I knew so it was just me my dad and Paul. I wasn’t...

I have just arrived home from Belfast where the Irish blog awards were being held and I am glad to say that I have won the award for the "Best youth blog" I will have a proper post tomorrow but now I think it is time for bed.... :D

On Saturday I will be getting up bright and early to go up to Belfast for the Irish blog awards. I have gotten into the final of the youth category for the awards. My I.T teacher nominated me and I was surprised that I got into the final. The awards are taking place on Saturday on the Europa hotel in Belfast and my dad and me just booked out tickets. I didn’t have a clue about anything to do with the awards to I emailed one of the other finalist in the youth category. I emailed Tommy because form reading his blog I found out that he had been to the awards before and he had won too. He was a huge help to me. So thanks Tommy for your help its much appreciated. :) Check out Tommys blog at http://trusttommy.com/ . So on Saturday morning I will be heading off up to Belfast with my dad and Paul. Thanks to everybody who has helped me with my blog.  I have to say thanks to Tom, my blogging motivator without him I wouldn’t have blogged as much as I have done so far this year. He is the best...

Irish blog awards.

During the week I found out that I got picked as one of the finalist for the Irish blog awards youth category. My I.T teacher Mrs L nominated me for the award a few weeks ago. I'm only new to blogging so I didn't know anything about the awards. It was a surprise for me that I got nominated or even that Mrs L thought that my blog was go enough to be nominated for the Irish blog awards. There were ten people in the youth blog nomination at the beginning. I really didn ’t think that I would get into the final for the competition. The other blogs that have been nominated in the youth category were amazing. I read them most days and they are really good. I'm really happy that people thought that my blog was good enough to go into the final of the competition. I think that no I have to go up to Belfast for the competition. Good luck and congratulations to all of the bloggers that got through to the final of the Irish blog awards
