Blog makeover. :)

So I decided today that it was time for a change of scene. I was getting kind of tired of the template that I was using for my blog and I felt that it was really a time for a blog makeover. I didn’t find any of the backgrounds on blogger very appealing to me so I went onto Google to see if I could find any websites that you could get some blogger templates. To my surprise there were loads of websites and even more temples. I spent a good while looking at different websites and looking at different templates before I found the background that I liked the most. It was really easy to put it onto my blog too. I had to find the instruction first because in the beginning I did have a clue what to do but the instructions were easy and very simple to follow and it only took a matter of minutes to get the new template for my blog. This was the website where I got this template. Take a look and see if there is anything that you like. There are lots to choose from.

Come to the dark side.... :)

Today six T.Y's and a fifth year went to the Stars wars convention in the RDS in Dublin.16 of the T.Y's that went bag packing to help raise money for the charity Irish Autism were put into a draw to win one of these tickets. Load of people didn’t go because they thought that it would be very good and to be honest I was one of the people who were thinking of not going and I am really glad that I decided to go in the end because it was an amazing day.The tickets that we had won were for the press preview today before any members of the public were allowed in. So there weren’t many people there but it was still really good. The tickets. The doors opened around 12 after we had been waiting for a while. We had been taking some photos while we were waiting. Once we went in there wasn’t much there at all. Just a hall with people and an ice cream truck a few chairs and one or two other places that we could get food. We also soon found out that the ice –cream was for FREE!!!! Di

Student blogs.

I received an e-mail today form a guy called Ben. From the sounds of his e-mail he seems like a really nice person. He was e-mailing me about my blog. He was telling me that he had a blog and how he thought that it was really good that Mrs L encourages us to blog in school. He told me about this website that he made sometime last year with two of his friends. It’s called irishstudentsblogs.com he asked me if I would like him to post my blog onto the website and I say sure why not. It’s a really good website and there is loads of different blogs. You should go and take a look at it. You never know your blog could end up there next. Its a really good idea and you get to read blogs form people all around Ireland in so many different schools.

Swim a mile with a smile..... :)

Today the annual Swim a mile with a smile  took place in the  NAC . All of the transition years and the LCVP class went along to the NAC to take part. We left school around 9.05 and made our way to the national aquatic centre. Once we had arrived Mr. Daly came to talk to us about the swim and he also talked to us about some rules for the pool. After that we were told that the slides would be open for us after we swam our mile. Once we had all got changed we headed out to the pool and we were told what lanes we were going got be swimming in. Some people wanted to swim the mile by themselves so they all went in to a lane by themselves. Then the rest of the people were told what lanes they were in and we all got started. I wanted it to swim the mile on my own but I didnt think I was going to be able to so me and Kellie  swam as a team and Louise  counted for us. after about half an hour we joined up with  Zoe and and  Fiona then we swam as a team of four. Then Lauren  was counting fo

Subject choices.

A while ago everybody had a meeting with Mr C about what subjects we wanted to do in fifth yer four the leaving cert. And this week we found out if we had got our subjects or not. 15 people didn’t get there subjects. I was one of them.   During the Easter Feaster loads of people went to have a meeting with Mr C about their subject choices. I went first that morning. I dint get my history class because not enough people applied for it. There was an early history class but I didn’t want to do that because I only really like the late History. So instead I chose to do LCVP. Mr C explained it to me as T.Y in a class. I’m looking forward to it next year it should be fun. And you get to go on work experience again. I love going on work experience it’s really fun. Hopefully next year will be fun but nothing will compare to the amazing experience that I have got from T.Y. I am glad that I chose to do transition year. It has been amazing so far and we still have another month to go…

Santry day 2.

Today was the second day of the west leinsters championships in sentry. I went on Tuesday as well but I wasn’t competing because they had to change the days. I was competing today in both the shot put and the discus. On Tuesday a total of 17 medals were won by the Wolstans girls. Today another few were won and not to mention the three awards that we won at the end…. :) I had a good day apart form my foul in the shot put that was on my best throw. It was so annoying I just couldn’t catch myself from going over the board. I did however came fourth and got points for the school so after a while I got over it. After that I still had to compete in the discus. I came second in this and I was very happy that I threw 20.80 meters. I would have liked to break 22 meters but I still have a chance in the leinsters which will be taking place next month. Everybody did great in Santry so well done.

Time for some ballet.

Yesterday after our Easter feaster both of the T.Y classes headed off into town to see a ballet performance. We went to Belvedere College to see the national youth ballet. Hayley from Enmet was taking part in the ballet and that’s why we went to see it. Let me just say that Hayley was amazing and I think she made Ms B and Mrs L very proud indeed. There was three different performance. The first one I thought was to do with Easter but later Kellie informed me that It was the ugly duckling, then there was a beach themed I think and then there was one that had a family and they were looking for their son. I got confused with that one but it was still really good. I think that its kind of like acting but without the words. I didn’t think too much about going to the ballet, I had never been to one before and I wasn’t really all that bothered about it. I just thought that it was going to be another good day out in T.Y. I was very surprised at how much that I enjoyed it. It was so good and

Holy Faith school sports.

Today a number of students from St wolstans travelled to Santry Stadium to compete in the Holy Faith school sports. There were ten schools there all together. People from all of the different years were competing today. There was some good competition I must say. We left school after break and seeing as how our class Amina had gone on retreat today Jessica and me spent the first two classes in the hall with Mr L’s P.E classes. We did a few little odd jobs here and there. We also ventured up the scary stairs to get the singlets for Mr L.  On the way back down Jessica tried to turn off the light by almost setting of the fire alarm, but it’s ok because she realised that it wasn’t a light switch. The scary stairs were fun weren’t they Jessica??? lol. When we got there we had about half an hour until the competition started. Jessica Zoe and me all went for a quick lap just to warm up. Our old Chaplin was there as well helping out with the events and the medal presentations so we got a cha
