Life with an Underbite

I have (now had :)) an underbite, and it is something which I have had for as long as I can remember, however it has worsened significantly over the past number of years. When I finally turned 18 it was time to begin my journey to double jaw surgery. To say my underbite has been a burden, is an understatement. The physical, emotional and mental pain and suffering you go through from having a disfigurement - especially a facial disfigurement - is unexplainable. It's not something you can cover up or hide with makeup, it's there for everyone to see and judge. No blog post would be able to get my experience across entirely, it'd be impossible.

I underwent my corrective double jaw surgery on October 6th 2015 in St. Francis Hospital, Mullingar. It has been a long road to my surgery but by the time it came around I was ready and as prepared as I could possibly be! It truly has been a life changing surgery with not only a change to my appearance but a change to my self-esteem and confidence.
